About Us
Together We Will Be is a mentorship and community that sheds light on life with a sick loved one from a child’s point of view. My hope is to encourage kids who are in this journey to know they are not alone, because #TogetherWeWillBe
the
STORY
Everything changed in 2018 when my dad told me the awful news that he had colon cancer. Many emotions, some I had never even experienced before, stormed my 10-year-old self. Life changed. I was sad for my dad. My parents seemed distant, not only from the traveling back and forth to M.D. Anderson, but also their attention was now divided as they navigated the new life we were all living. I felt alone and confused.
My family has now been on the cancer journey for six years. Through the years I have discovered that it truly takes a village during hard times. I have learned not only to survive, but thrive through this adventure.

My story is not unique. Many kids are living life with a critically ill loved one. I created Together We Will Be as a community to support, advise, and provide a safe place for kids like me.
